How do you get hold of prop masters?

How do you get hold of prop masters?
I've been told that you have to go through a prop master, to show your work if you wish to work with a crew designing picture props is this True and if so is there a site that I many find some?

In fact, I have. I was able to acquire a few pieces from Paramount Pictures, and I sold a few props from Decotique to studios in Culver City. One was a very cool Art Deco Honeywell Heat Register. It was used for a shoot from that era.
